The former Prime Minister of Spain and president of FAES, José María Aznar, asked to “reform the Transition system in order to update it”. He also stated that “I’m not against anyone; I’m with the Spanish people. Not more than anyone, but at least as much as the most supportive”.
Aznar delivered these statements at the Congress, during the launch and presentation of the new series of books Biografías Políticas, published by FAES with the aim of spreading the work and thoughts of the most relevant personalities of the Spanish liberal-conservative tradition. The first three volumes of the series are dedicated to Cánovas del Castillo, Maura and Silvela. Also invited to the launch as speakers were the President of the Congress of Deputies, Jesús Posada; MP and FAES director of Institutions and Constitutions, Ignacio Astarloa; the director of the Publishing Department, Miguel Ángel Quintanilla, and the director of the book series, Manuel Álvarez Tardío.
