The Campus has been opened by Mauricio Macri, Chief of Government of the city of Buenos Aires; Javier Zarzalejos, Secretary-General of FAES; Francisco Cabrera, Minister for Economic Development and President of Fundaci?n Pensar; and Gerardo Bongiovanni, president of Fundaci?n Libertad. During his address at the opening session of the FAES Campus Argentina, Mauricio Macri has declared to be "deeply optimistic about Argentina's future, because we have the means to reach development". "Al Argentinean people must have their position of progress and growth and Argentina must achieve its rightful place in the world", he stated. The Chief of Government of the city of Buenos Aires said that "today, more than ever, Argentineans must defend the values of a fairer society". In his opinion, "values support themselves on active political principles, from which different views of reality can be obtained". "People should be free to choose those that do things better", he declared. During his address, Macri said that "we have the obligation of going deeper into debate" and has noted the "attitudes" "that set us on the side of the unpredictable". "Endangering reserves endangers people's savings", he assured, and asserted that "employment comes hand in hand with investment". ADDITION AND UNITY Javier Zarzalejos, Secretary-General of FAES, has declared from Buenos Aires his "satisfaction that the Partido Popular has been the option chosen by the largest majority of Spanish people". In this sense, he stated that "the victory of the PP represents clearly two ideas: generating a winning project and nurturing it with good ideas for a good Government. A national project revolving around addition and unity". Zarzalejos, who stressed the "historic opportunity" assumed by the PP, has also assured that "what our country manages to be in the future depends on what we do now". In his opinion, "its sound political forces that make demagogy and populism pay their toll, but have their sanction in the polls when there's an alternative". The Secretary-General of FAES believes that what should be supported are "firm ideas, not dogmatic, and enriched by the exchange and added value coming from uniting those that are similar". In this respect, Zarzalejos appreciated the attendance of representatives of Venezuela's Mesa de la Unidad, Chile's Government Alliance and other organisations like the IRI and Atlas to the FAES Campus Argentina. Francisco Cabrera, president of Fundaci?n Pensar, welcomed the people attending the Campus and assured that "we must count with sound political ideas supported on true pillars, and that's why we're here". "We believe deeply in people, in their projects. We're here to generate public policies supporting entrepreneurs and that in no way hamper their development", he added. With regard to Argentina, the also Minister of Economic Development of Buenos Aires stated that "we're concerned about Argentina's reality, we believe more in the account that in what's happening". Cabrera assured that "in Fundaci?n Pensar we're working deeply on government responsibilities and on the proposals that must be carried out". "We're optimistic, we believe in debate", he concluded. Last but not least, Gerardo Bongiovanni, president of Fundaci?n Libertad, has reminded everyone that FAES "is among the best think tanks in Europe" and has managed to achieve that good ideas are put into practice".
