FAES Foundation and the Centre for European Studies (CES) organise the congress 'European Integration as a Model for Latin America' in Brussels from 25 to 29 November. The congress will be held until Friday, 29 November, and about thirty young Latin American politicians will take part in it.

The members of the program will be visiting some Community institutions such as the European Parliament and the Committee of the Regions, and will take part in conferences delivered by different personalities, such as Antonio López-Istúriz, Secretary-General of the European People’s Party (EPP) and the Centrist Democrat International (CDI), and Pablo Arias, José Ignacio Salafranca and Pablo Zalba, MEPs from the EPP. The members of FAES who are participating in the conferences are Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, Director of the International Department, José Herrera, Deputy Director of said area, and Guillermo Hirschfeld, Coordinator of Programs for Latin America.

The speakers will discuss subjects such as EU foreign policy toward Latin America; the single European digital market; the importance of political parties, think tanks and networks; the EU migration and border policy; and the overcoming of the economic crisis, among others issues. During their stay in Brussels, participants will also be able to meet Tomi Huhtanen, CES Director, and Florian Hartleb, Coordinator for Policy Analysis at Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

This congress complements the work FAES has been developing for years in order to train Latin American leaders through programs such as Visitors and Excellence, as well as the Campuses held in different countries of the region, such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Perú.
