Twenty deputies, senators, mayors, advisers and party and foundation leaders of 18 countries in Latin America, USA and Portugal participate in the Program FAES Celebrates the Third Edition of its Excellence Program

    _ They held a dialogue with José María Aznar during the FAES Campus

    _ They will visit La Moncloa, the Congress of Deputies, the Community of Madrid and the City Hall of the capital

    _ They will attend seminars on excellence and governance in companies and educational institutions

FAES Foundation is celebrating this week in Madrid the third edition of its Excellence Program which, this time, brings together twenty participants from 18 countries, mainly from Latin America, in addition to the United States and Portugal. Among them are deputies, senators, mayors, advisers and party and foundation leaders. The program is part of the activities which FAES carries out with the aim of strengthening links with political parties, institutions, government agencies and think tanks in Latin American countries, as well as strengthen democratic and liberal practises.



The participants were received on Monday 7 at the seat of FAES by the Secretary-General of the Foundation, Javier Zarzalejos, and the directors of the various departments. The previous day, some of them held a dialogue on the importance of ideas in politics with former Prime Minister and President of FAES, José María Aznar, after the closing session of the 2014 FAES Campus.

Until next Friday 11, the group will visit the Moncloa and the Congress of Deputies; they will meet with personalities like the President of the Community of Madrid, Ignacio Gonzalez, and the mayor of the capital, Ana Botella; they will visit some of the most important Spanish companies and educational institutions, and will participate in seminars on issues related to excellence and governance. 

INSTITUTIONS, PERSONALITIES AND TRAINING
Starting tomorrow, Tuesday 8, the program's students will visit the Moncloa Palace, where they will be received by members of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government, they will also visit the Congress of Deputies and the Presidency of the Community of Madrid and the Municipality of the capital, where they will hold separate meetings with Madrid's President, Ignacio González, and its Mayor, Ana Botella.

Throughout the week, participants will also travel to the headquarters of some of the leading educational institutions in Spain, as the IE Business School and IESE Business School; companies such as Telefonica, Grupo Santander and Grupo Villar-Mir; the House of America; Metropoli Foundation and the Municipality of Alcobendas.

During these visits they will attend seminars on issues such as improving governance and transparency in public policy; strategic analysis of the challenges of the public sector; the importance of excellence in institutions and governance, and the implementation of the model of excellence to the cities of the 21st century. At FAES, they will participate in two workshops on new forms of political communication and telegenic skills.

The FAES Excellence Program is part of the activities that the Foundation carries out in order to strengthen ties with political parties, institutions, government agencies and think tanksin Latin American countries as well as strengthen democratic and liberal practises. To this end, the Foundation also develops the Latin American Visitors Program and the Middle East and North Africa Visitors Program, focused on leadership training aimed at young politicians.
