25/05/2018. María Lonie Fernández Zafra. Colombia se juega su futuro este domingo, y el mayor riesgo lo personifica Gustavo Petro, abierto simpatizante del modelo ‘castrochavista’. De pasar a segunda vuelta, como lo prevén las encuestas, la incertidumbre en medio de la polarización política que vive el país sería enorme. Si vence el modelo comunista de Petro, llevaría al país por el camino que ya recorrieron Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua y Bolivia con los resultados nefastos que conocemos.

14/05/2018. Pablo Martín de Santa Olalla. Parece que, al fin, va a haber un gobierno en Italia con el que poder iniciar la XVIII Legislatura, y lo formarán los dos partidos más polarizados respecto a las formaciones tradicionales. La pregunta que más de uno se hará es: ¿qué une a Cinco Estrellas y a la Liga más allá de una política dura con las autoridades comunitarias? Ciertamente, no mucho más. Pero ya se sabe que la política italiana es enormemente imprevisible. Veremos qué nos depara esta inédita alianza de gobierno.

11/05/2018. Javier Gil Guerrero. Irán deberá medir muy cuidadosamente su reacción al anuncio de Trump. Sus opciones son limitadas. La preocupación y el hartazgo de los iraníes no tiene nada que ver con Israel o Siria, sino con la falta de oportunidades económicas y libertades. Verse asfixiados de nuevo por una acción iraní contra Israel o por la reactivación del programa nuclear sólo aumentaría su descontento contra la mala gestión del gobierno.

The situation has put the country on the ropes and today the exist is at least complex. Al those of us who believe in democracy, the rule of law and freedom  must contribute to the “internationalization” of the Nicaraguan question.

23/03/2018. Santiago José Castro Agudelo. El próximo 27 de mayo Colombia celebra la primera vuelta de sus presidenciales. Una vez más el partido que decidirá la elección es el Partido Conservador, con todo y sus problemas internos. Uribe y Duque deberían concentrar sus esfuerzos en concretar la alianza con el Partido Conservador y con el conservatismo en general. De lo contrario, Vargas Lleras, el candidato de Cambio Radical, puede terminar por adelantarse.

21/03/2018. Fundación FAES. Putin has won the elections without any competition and has fulfilled his main objective: to be himself the succession to power. A renewed sense of stability and national pride has re-emerged during his tenure, and with a deeply divided opposition he is not expected to lead his country towards democratization during his new term. He simply will not risk that any real liberalisation could lead to the disappearance of his own regime.
