FAES believes in economic freedom and upholds the concepts of private property, market economies and free trade - concepts that are both inalienable rights of a free society and the key drivers of prosperity and progress. Its liberal persuasions mean that it also upholds the role of the State as guarantor of individual freedom. The scope of the Foundation"s research extends to structural reforms promoting: free, fully competitive markets privatization the elimination of monopolies and other restrictions on competition budgetary stability and tax reforms free international trade globalisation and monetary policy guaranteeing minimum inflationary taxation. Its research also covers international economics, the European economy and the Spanish economy. FAES runs an economic "observatory" that has become a centre of reference for debate around the Spanish economy. It also carries out regular analyses of the state of the Spanish economy and its prospects.
