State Agreements, Long-Term Policies

22/09/2010

"Proposal for a State Policy on Energy for Argentina" is the title of the document launched at the Centre for Latin American Studies of FAES. Ana Palacio participated at the Laughing of the text with Eduardo Duhalde, former president of Argentina, and eight former secretaries of State of Energy from Argentina. Strengthening the regulating bodies, establishing a stable policy of charges that covers costs, long term energy planning, and mitigating climatic change, are some of the document's proposals. According to Duhalde, this report represents the spirit that we in Argentina believe the Moncloa Pacts had, and which we seek to replicate, the spirit of advancing with long term policies and of creating dialogue niches enabling a nation of stable agreements.
