Aznar, Appointed Honorary Member of the Spain Florida Foundation 500 Years Madrid, 02.03.12.- Jos? Mar?a Aznar, Former Prime Minister of Spain and President of FAES Foundation, has been appointed Honorary Member of the Spain Florida Foundation 500 Years, which commemorates the 5th Centenary of Spain's presence in this State. Aznar met with some of the Foundation's members of the Board of Directors in Miami and expressed his support for the 5th Centenary and his hope that it will represent an opportunity to strengthen the historical, political and economic contributions between Spain and Florida, and with the rest of the United States. Likewise, the former Spanish Prime Minister encouraged them to convey to the Spanish and American Societies the importance of such a commemoration and of the Spanish historical contribution to the United States, which, according to him, would help tighten the ties between the two countries.
