However, with populism, there"s improvisation and bad policies, there"s poverty, corruption and lack of freedom", Aznar said this during his address closing the third edition of the FAES Campus Argentina this sense, Aznar insisted on saying that "Latin America is more democratic, more prosperous and probably is prone to enjoy more possibilities than ever before" and has before it an "excellent opportunity to achieve a thriving future". "There"s still much to do, but Latin America is now fit to do it", he remarked. With regard to Spain, Aznar celebrated that "fortunately, Spanish citizens have awarded a mandate to my party to restore seriousness, consistency and credibility to Government. "The FAES Campus proves that dialogue and debate must overcome territorial barriers", she added. Also partipating in the event were the regional minister for the Economic Development of Buenos Aires and president of Pensar foundation, Francisco Cabrera, who said that "winning the elections doesn"t mean changing reality; in order to do that debating ideas is necessary, like we"ve done in this Campus"; and the first vice-president of the city government, Cristian Ritondo, who thanked the speakers and students attending the Campus and declared that "hopefully, we will continue discussing ideas in democracy". Mar?a Aznar was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE) as an "acknowledgement to his outstanding political career and his staunch commitment in pursuit of freedom, democracy and Western humanism". During his address, Aznar said that "Controlling expenses, responsibility and the austerity of public institutions not only do not damage the viability of the Welfare State, solidarity policies and the strengthening of the Middle class, but rather improve them like no other policy". He also added that "irresponsible spending and the excessive growth of public administrations without any criteria is precisely what can damage social cohesion the most". After closing the Campus, Aznar held a meeting with the Chief of Government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Mauricio Macri, at Buenos Aires City Hall.
