Mayor Oreja and Zarzalejos open the seminar FAES-EIN

On Wednesday, April 25, at 04:30 pm, at FAES' premises Mayor Oreja and Zarzalejos open the seminar on the role of the EU in the "Arab Spring" Organised by FAES and European Ideas Network, a network of think tanks and political foundations linked to the EPP On Thursday 26, both institutions will celebrate a second seminar on the new international architecture Madrid, 25.04.11.- FAES Foundation will host this week two seminars on the role of the EU in the "Arab Spring" and in the new international architecture, organised jointly with the European Ideas Network, EIN, a network of think tanks and political foundations linked to the European People's Party. The Vice-Chair of the People's Party Group in the European Parliament and maximum authority of EIN, Jaime Mayor Oreja, and the Secretary-General of FAES, Javier Zarzalejos, will open the sessions today, April 25, at 04:40 pm on FAES' premises (Mar?a de Molina, 40, 6th floor). The first seminar will analyse the role of the European Union in the so-called "Arab Spring" and in helping enroot democracy and the Rule of Law in the countries concerned. Chaired by the MEP of the EPP, Tokia Sa?fi, it will have as speakers the President of the Provisional Government of Kabylia, Ferhat Mehenni, and the president of the Reform Party of Syria, Farid Ghadri, amongst others. The seminar will be closed by the Middle East expert, Walid Phares. On Thursday April 26, FAES and EIN will celebrate a second seminar on the new international architecture and European and world governance. It will host as speakers the Directors of the International and Economy and Public Policies Departments of FAES, Cayetana ?lvarez de Toledo and Miguel Mar?n. It will also count with the participation of the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ana Palacio; the president of the Instituto de Cr?dito Oficial, ICO, Rom?n Escolano, and the economist of the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission, Declan Costello. The debate will be chaired by the member of the EPP Group at the European Parliament, Paulo Rangel.
