On Wednesday, October 24, at the C?rculo de Bellas Artes, Madrid Aznar, to Award to Vargas Llosa the 2012 FAES Freedom Award The award stands as recognition of the Nobel Prize Peruvian Laureate's work in defence of freedom Vargas Llosa can be added to H. M. The King, Baroness Margaret Thatcher and Shimon Peres, award winners of previous editions Madrid, 22.10.12.- The former Prime Minister of Spain and President of FAES Foundation FAES Jos? Mar?a Aznar will grant the 2012 FAES Freedom Award to the Nobel prize literature laureate Mario Vargas Llosa on Wednesday, October 24. The event will be celebrated at 07:30 pm at the Sala de Columnas of the C?rculo de Bellas Artes (C/ Alcal?, 42). FAES Foundation's Board of Trustees unanimously nominated Vargas Llosa in June, by request of Aznar himself, as the winner of the award for his work in defence of freedom. FAES created the FAES Freedom Award in 2009, in concurrence with the celebration of its 20th anniversary, to acknowledge personalities renowned for their promotion and defence of democracy and freedom in the world. Vargas Llosa is the fourth award winner which, in previous editions was granted to His Majesty the King Don Juan Carlos; Baroness and former Prime Minister of the UK, Margaret Thatcher; and the President of Israel, Shimon Peres.
