José María Aznar, former Prime Minister of Spain and president of FAES Foundation, has received the Cuban dissident and blogger Yoani Sánchez, who’s visiting Spain, in FAES’ headquarters.
During the meeting, both have exchanged impressions about the Human Rights situation in Cuba. Aznar has conveyed to Sánchez his permanent commitment with the cause of freedom and his total support to the dissidents’ brave efforts to have a democratic, open, tolerant and plural Cuba.
The meeting was also attended by the secretary-general of FAES Javier Zarzalejos, the Director of the Foundation’s International Area, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, her deputy director, José Herrera, and the coordinator for Latin American Programmes, Guillermo Hirschfeld.
