Antonio Ledezma is one of most prominent critical voices against Chavism and a moral leader for Venezuelan democratic opposition. He has tirelessly denounced the totalitarian drift of the regime and he has stood up for liberty in the most unfavorable conditions.
Today he has arrived in Spain escaping his house arrest since he did not want to be a hostage of the tyranny of the regime. I have no doubt that Antonio Ledezma will be the voice of the opposition in the exile and will continue to work from here on the pursue of liberty, denouncing the abuses of Chavism, demanding the return of democracy and rule of law to Venezuela and appealing to the compromise of the international community towards the Venezuelan people.
A little over two years ago Antonio Ledezma brought me through his wife Mitzy Capriles an appreciation letter for our solidarity and support of the democratic cause in Venezuela. I have kept it during all this time and will continue to do so. Welcome to Spain, my friend.
