FAES Foundation received on May 27 the fourth promotion of theLIDERA Program, a project which comprises Young political leaders from Venezuela subscribing different sectors and lines of thought and independent of political parties. The former Prime Minister of Spain and president of FAES, José María Aznar, has held a meeting with the members of the program, whom he encouraged to keep their commitment to be of service to their country, the law and the Rule of Law and to the hope of the Venezuelan people for a future of democracy and stability.
The gathering, celebrated as one of the activities of FAES Centre for Latin American Studies, was also attended by the Secretary-General of FAES, Javier Zarzalejos; the director of the International department, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo; and the coordinator for Latin American Programs, Guillermo Hirschfeld, who stressed the importance of working to generate ideas and proposals to strengthen democracy and the Rule of Law in the countries of Latin America. The members of FAES conveyed their concerns for the aggressions suffered by the citizens in some countries of the region in their freedom and most basic rights.
The LIDERA Program is supported by the Andrés Bello Catholic University and the Metropolitan University of Caracas, Futuro Presente Foundation and the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Administración.
