
01/04/2014. FAES Foundation launched Canalejas. Un liberal reformista, the fourth volume of the series Biografías Políticas, published by its imprint Gota a Gota. The book was launched in the Centre for Political and Constitution Studies. Ricardo Martín de la Guardia, professor of Contemporary History at the University of Valladolid; Benigno Pendás, director of the Centre; and Miguel Ángel Quintanilla, FAES Director of the Publishing Department, also took part in the event.

José María Aznar, former Prime minister of Spain and President of FAES Foundation, closed on Friday, March 28, in Madrid, the annual seminar jointly organised by FAES Foundation and European Ideas Network, EIN, the network of think tanks and foundations linked to the European People’s Party. Minister of Justice Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón participated on Wednesday, 12 March, in the FAES-ESADE Law School Human Rights Seminar Antonio Marzal on the historical evolution of the right to effective legal protection. Ruiz-Gallardon stated that the new Organic Law on the Judiciary would strengthen the National High Court by increasing its responsibilities. Therefore, “the National High Court will be strengthened with a new civil chamber”.

10/02/2014. Jaime García-Legaz, Secretary of State for Trade, stated today at the 2014 Index of Economic Freedom launch that “Spain has still a very important reform agenda ahead”. In this respect, he stated that “the national reform program will include new measures” and that “the Index constitutes an incentive for Spain to become increasingly free from an economic point of view”.

09/12/2013. FAES Foundation organises from Monday 9 to Friday 13 the second edition of its Middle East and North Africa Visitor Program (the MENA region). Twenty-two young people from thirteen countries of the region will take part in it. The meetings will address the state of human rights after the so-called 'Arab Springs' and issues such as the EU's commitment to freedom and human rights in the MENA region and the importance of political parties, Constitutions and the Rule of Law for the institutional strengthening in said countries will be discussed.

26/11/2013. FAES Foundation and the Centre for European Studies (CES) organise the congress 'European Integration as a Model for Latin America' in Brussels from 25 to 29 November. The congress will be held until Friday, 29 November, and about thirty young Latin American politicians will take part in it.

18/11/2013. From Monday, 18 November to Friday 22 FAES organises the XII edition of its Program of Latin American Visitors, together with the Secretariat of State for International Cooperation and for Latin America. Thirty young politicians from sixteen countries of the region and the United States took part in it, aiming to learn about the running of the Spanish political, institutional and economic system and to be trained in leadership skills.
