Prensa FAES about Catalonia

06.10.17.- The events in Catalonia produce astonishment and it is imperative to confront not a simple challenge but a frontal attack against the law, democracy and the rights of our citizens. Before all this, there is a Spanish nation, also in Catalonia, which does not surrender, which will not surrender. The Government needs to act as the nation needs it to do it. Its parliamentary majority is enough to activate all the political power provided for defending the Constitution.

The independent political analyst, Ulrich Speck, has participated, as main speaker, in a meeting organized by FAES Foundation about the recent elections in Germany and the consequences they may have in the future of the European Union. For Speck, this result showed that Germany is stable and continues with a Government led by Angela Merkel, even if it is with a different coalition.

Prensa Nacionalismos fallidos

Prensa The force of Law

For a long time, we attend to the secessionist challenge of a few who, by using grossly the name of Catalonia, want to break away with Spain and thus the Catalonian community itself, since it is not uniform and not even majority the pro-independence sentiment of the Catalans, who most of them feel at the same time Catalans and, as such, Spanish. These days a lot has been said about the application of article 155 of the Spanish Constitution and the advisability of applying it or not.
