The former president of France and president of the Republicans, Nicolas Sarkozy, has delivered the opening conference of the 2015 FAES Campus, held in Guadarrama. During his speech, he spoke about the situation in Greece following the events of recent days, and stated that ‘the question is not how to save the nation, but how to save the eurozone.’

It also reminds us that, despite evil always being trivialized –now in 140 characters-, there are people whose work becomes part of a life of exceptional value. These people are essential to provide society with true examples, so that it can develop bulwarks of civic strength and moral clarity against the attack by the worst enemies of freedom to democracy"
/16.06.15/.- José María Aznar sent a condolence telegram to the daughters of Ana María Vidal-Abarca, co-founder of the Association of Victims of Terrorism, to convey his deepest condolences on the passing of their mother. In the telegram, he emphasized that “she was an exceptional Spaniard: courageous, free and tenacious” who “never accepted the silence imposed by ETA's barbarity and who enabled an increasing number of people to spoke out for Spain and for freedom”. He also recalled “her committed and lucid upholding of the Constitution” and stated that we, all democrats, “owe her an inestimable debt of gratitude”.
Lacking any other means except a post office box and a couple of ads in newspapers, more than 35 years ago, three women founded the Association of Victims of Terrorism. One of them was Ana María Vidal Abarca who, along with Sonsoles Álvarez de Toledo and Isabel O'Shea, managed to sow and reap in the Basque Country a testimony of solidarity and decency in what was then a wilderness of fear and complicit silence which parched the most elementary civic values and even the compassion with those who fell victims of the terrorist barbarity.

Hasta ahora, el Consejo ha adoptado sus decisiones mediante el denominado sistema de voto ponderado.
