/25.11.15/.- La Fundación FAES ha presentado esta tarde la biografía Konrad Adenauer. Artífice de una nueva Alemania, impulsor de una Europa unida, publicada por su editorial, Gota a Gota. En el acto han participado, además del expresidente del Gobierno y presidente de FAES, José María Aznar, el autor de la obra, el catedrático de Historia Contemporánea de la Universidad de Valladolid Ricardo Martín de la Guardia; el profesor Hanns Jürgen Küsters, de la Fundación Konrad Adenauer, y la directora del Área Internacional de FAES, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo.
Following recent jihadists attacks in Paris, the French government has informed of three decisions related to their strategy against the Islamic State: 1) The French president François Hollande and the Russian one, Vladimir Putin, have agreed to coordinate their global fight against the jihads entity. 2) In the coming days, Hollande will visit Washington and Moscow in order to promote the creation of a common international coalition to fight the IS. 3) France requests the activation of Article 42.7 of the EU Treaty. The three decisions seem to be the logical reaction after the Paris’ attacks, and the confirmation, by the Kremlin, that the Russian plane that crashed in the Sinai last month was the result of an IS’ terrorist attack.
/19.11.15/.- La analista de la Fundación FAES y experta en Relaciones Internacionales, Mira Milosevich, analiza las tres medidas anunciadas por el Gobierno francés vinculadas a su estrategia contra el Estado Islámico y concluye que estas decisiones contrarrestan el poder de Alemania en Europa y el de los EE.UU. en el mundo. "Esto no implica necesariamente el fin de la pax americana, pero sí el debilitamiento de las relaciones transatlánticas", subraya.

El número de víctimas es abrumador. La dimensión de los atentados y la destrucción de vidas que han causado produce sentimientos de consternación equiparables a los que suscitaron los atentados de Atocha y hace que nosotros los españoles vivamos esta tragedia con una especial cercanía emocional al pueblo francés".

The Professor has sent a letter thanking the President of the Foundation and former Prime Minister of Spain, Jose Maria Aznar, for the award. Sartori is considered one of the founding fathers of contemporary political science and has distinguished himself throughout his public life and work as a staunch defender of freedom and for pointing out with wit and courage the challenges and problems facing Western democracies.
