/24.11.15/.- José María Aznar ha nombrado esta tarde nuevos patronos de la Fundación a la expresidenta del Partido Popular del País Vasco, María San Gil; la directora del área de Internacional de FAES, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo; el vicesecretario de Comunicación del PP, Pablo Casado, y el exministro de Justicia Alberto Ruiz Gallardón. Los cuatro patronos de libre designación anunciados hoy por Aznar durante la reunión ordinaria semestral del Patronato de FAES se suman a los 54 miembros actuales.
Following recent jihadists attacks in Paris, the French government has informed of three decisions related to their strategy against the Islamic State: 1) The French president François Hollande and the Russian one, Vladimir Putin, have agreed to coordinate their global fight against the jihads entity. 2) In the coming days, Hollande will visit Washington and Moscow in order to promote the creation of a common international coalition to fight the IS. 3) France requests the activation of Article 42.7 of the EU Treaty. The three decisions seem to be the logical reaction after the Paris’ attacks, and the confirmation, by the Kremlin, that the Russian plane that crashed in the Sinai last month was the result of an IS’ terrorist attack.

The Professor has sent a letter thanking the President of the Foundation and former Prime Minister of Spain, Jose Maria Aznar, for the award. Sartori is considered one of the founding fathers of contemporary political science and has distinguished himself throughout his public life and work as a staunch defender of freedom and for pointing out with wit and courage the challenges and problems facing Western democracies.
