/27.10.15/.- The FAES coordinator of Programmes for Latin America, Guillermo Hirschfeld, analyses the "surprising" results of Argentinian elections which, in his opinion, "point out that Democracy has been enriched with a competitive model where the alternative has demonstrated that it is capable of winning".
On November 22 the Argentines will be electing the president who will lead the country's destiny for the next four years in a thrilling runoff. The Argentine people will have to choose between the continuity of the Kirchner model embodied by the candidacy of Daniel Scioli, or the change alternative led by Mauricio Macri.
In the 42 elections for the House of Commons of the Canadian Parliament (the Senate is not elected), held on Monday, October 19, the Liberal Party obtained an absolute majority of seats (184 of 338) with 39.5% of the vote. In the previous term, the liberals – of centre-left wing – were the third force (with 34 seats and 20% of votes), having obtained at the time the worst result ever reaped by the party that has governed Canada the longest since the creation of the Federation in 1867.

Durante su intervención en la presentación del nuevo informe estratégico de FAES Los tres desafíos de la empresa española: Productividad, dimensión e innovación, junto al comisario europeo de Investigación, Ciencia e Innovación, Carlos Moedas y el vicepresidente del Parlamento Europeo, Antonio Tajani, Aznar ha dicho que desde FAES “seguiremos desarrollando nuestra labor de estudiar y proponer, de debatir y anticipar riesgos y oportunidades que siguen siendo necesarias en el momento tan especial de la historia de España que vivimos.”

En el acto también intervendrán el secretario general del PPE, Antonio López-Istúriz, y el director del documento y del departamento de Economía y Políticas Públicas de FAES, Miguel Marín.
