Prensa Departmental Elections in France: Unity Strengthens the Right 

On March 22 and 29, France held the elections for the 101 departmental councils in which the country is divided. These territorial bodies have undergone significant changes since the constitutional reform of 2011 and the new law of 2013, which changed their composition, method of election and powers, although the conservative majority of the Senate saved them from a disappearance sponsored by the regional reforms conducted by the socialists of François Hollande.

Prensa 22 Latin American presidents denounce the democratic alteration suffered by Venezuela

/06.04.15/.- José María Aznar has signed with 21 former heads of State and Government of Latin America the Declaration of Panama, which denounces the constitutional and democratic alteration suffered by Venezuela, and which will be released on April 9, on the eve of the celebration of the VII Summit of the Americas. The Declaration calls for a joining of efforts to build an alternative solution to the crisis in Venezuela; obtain the release of political prisoners, and restore the conditions for the exercise of fundamental rights.

/25.03.15/.- The European Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy, Miguel Arias Cañete, stated at the conference 'Towards a European Energy Union' at the headquarters of FAES that ‘the fight against climate change requires a binding, ambitious and dynamic global agreement from the Paris summit’. Arias Cañete also said that ‘the best energy policy is energy efficiency’ and that therefore ‘we must work to reconcile the development of clean energy with an efficient and competitive system.’
